Problem Statement:

The Petrol Pump in Station Road at Prantij of Sabarkantha Dist. in Gujarat are billed under “time-of-use” rate system. Under this system, customers are billed at a higher rate during certain times of the day, such as during the sunniest daytime hours of summer when air conditioners are working at their peak.

Solution:

Lume Solar came to rescue for Zazwala Petrol Pump by installing a Grid Connected Solar Power System. Net Metering enables any excess electricity you produce is fed back into the grid. Electricity from the grid supplies your needs, eliminating the expense of electricity storage devices like batteries. We made Mr Said Bhai Zazwala, owner of the pump understand it, as an arrangement where the excess electricity generated by grid-connected renewable energy systems “turns back” your electricity meter as it is fed back into the grid. If you use more electricity than your system feeds into the grid during a given month, you pay your power provider only for the difference between what you used and what you produced.

We received extremely happy response by Mr. Zazwala and the pump personals, as they shared their 100% reduced electricity bill to us (other than the fixed charges).

The Petrol Pump was billed Rs. 7107/- in the month of September 2018, which drastically fall of Rs. 647/- (fixed charges), giving them a relief of around 100% reduced bill.
