In this setup, the solar PV array is connected to the grid with the help of an inverter. Excess power, which is not drawn by the load, is sent to the Grid. The inverter acts as a first line of defense in this system. In the event of grid failure, the inverter senses the over voltage or under voltage and disconnects the system from the grid.
